Quality Selfcatering In The Heart Of North Devon
The Dairy Cottage is a beautiful Holiday Cottage In Barnstaple in the North Devon valley of the River Yeo, mentioned in the book "Tarka the Otter".
It stands at one corner of a large courtyard, which until 1978 was the collecting yard of Pitt Farm's dairy unit.
When the farm was split up, the milking parlour together with the hayloft above was skillfully converted into the main house, known as Pitt Arches (so named because of the arches through which the cows passed to be milked), and the adjoining cottage, Dairy Cottage.
Either side of these are two large enclosed barns that stand now as they must have done for some 300 years.
They encircle the courtyard, making a wonderful suntrap and providing parking for our visitors.
If you are looking for a lovely holiday cottage in Barnstaple then The Dairy Cottage offers you a warm welcome with luxurious and spacious accommodation set among the quiet hills of North Devon.
